This is looking like a very active tick year.  Here are some useful tips.

LYME DISEASE

Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in Maine and the second most commonly reported reportable infectious disease in Maine. Ticks are already active, and we expect the number of Lyme disease cases to increase as the weather continues to get warmer. Maine CDC issued this press release in recognition of Lyme Disease Awareness Month.

This Health Alert for clinicians has important information on reporting requirements and treatment for Lyme disease.

Follow these links for more information on Lyme disease in Maine or recently signed legislation to expand Lyme disease awareness in Maine.
